OCS Arts
Where Creativity and Faith Take Shape.
Cultivating artistic skill, discipline, and expression for God’s glory.
We offer a vibrant, Christ-centered program that nurtures creativity and excellence in performing and visual arts. Students are encouraged to develop their skills, confidence, and collaboration while learning to use their God-given talents to glorify God and serve others.
PERFORMING ARTS:
Development and expression through music and drama.
The Performing Arts program at Ouachita Christian School provides students with rich opportunities to grow in musicianship, creativity, and performance from an early age. Beginning with elementary music instruction and continuing through piano studies, choir, and drama, students build strong artistic foundations while developing discipline, collaboration, and confidence.
Through individualized instruction, ensemble experiences, theatrical productions, and high-level performance opportunities, OCS students are encouraged to pursue excellence and use their God-given talents to serve and glorify Him—both on campus and on stages across the country.
VISUAL
ARTS:
Award-winning artistry and creative growth.
The nationally and multi-nationally recognized Visual Arts Department at Ouachita Christian School has represented the school with distinction for more than 35 years. Students engage in a rigorous, Christ-centered program that encourages creativity, technical skill, and artistic growth.
Program highlights include:
- A comprehensive and advanced curriculum, including Honors and Dual Enrollment opportunities
- Ongoing recognition at state and national competitions
- Leadership, service, and mentorship through Art Club and the National Art Honor Society
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Intentional moments that deepen faith.
The Arts Department celebrates student achievement through performances, productions, exhibitions, and outreach events that engage both the school and the broader community. From the stage to the studio, students are given meaningful opportunities to share their creativity and grow in confidence.
Through artistic excellence, service, and mentorship, Ouachita Christian School cultivates skilled artists, confident leaders, and young men and women who are prepared to impact the world—using their talents for God’s glory.
GRANDPARENTS DAY:
A cherished tradition—celebrating faith, family, and student talent.
What began in the 1990s as a simple in-house program has grown into a multi-day theatrical production featuring OCS first through fourth grade choruses and fifth-grade actors and singers.
Performed on the stage of the Jack Howard Theatre in Monroe, Grandparents’ Day is a special opportunity for students to share their God-given gifts with loved ones.
In keeping with the OCS mission, the program encourages students to grow in confidence, develop their talents, and shine the light God has placed within them.
