Auditioned District, State, Region, and National Choirs

LMEA All State Choir (6th -12th)
OCS will offer auditions for the Louisiana Music Educator’s Association All State Choir Conference in Fall of 2024 for the first time. This choir is held in high esteem by college music programs nationwide, and is extremely prestigious and elite. Students who audition and make it will sing with hundreds of other talented singers from across the state of Louisiana in Baton Rouge in November 2024.

ACDA Louisiana All State Choir (4th - 12th)
Twenty-four 4th - 12th grade students auditioned for and made the various ACDA Louisiana All State Choirs in October of 2023—Children’s Choir (4th - 6th), Youth Choir (7th - 9th), Women’s Choir (10th - 12th women), and Men’s Choir (10th - 12th men). We are so proud of how well-represented OCS has been in New Orleans for the ACDA All State Conference!

Three talented OCS students had the experience of a lifetime performing at the Kentucky Performing Arts Center in Louisville, KY in February of 2024 along with over 900 other talented singers from across 11 states. They performed with nine hundred other talented singers from across eleven states as the conclusion of the ACDA: Southern Region Choral Conference. These students not only gained musical expertise and skill they brought back to our school, but wisdom and life experiences they prepare for their own futures. Anna Beth Ellerman (11th grade) and Elli Sheppard (10th grade) sang in the Advanced SSAA Honor Choir, and Ruffin Spires (8th grade) sang in the Youth SATB Choir.

2025 will be the first year OCS has offered ACDA National Honor Choir auditions! This prominent event will take place in Dallas, TX and be a special opportunity for our singers!
