The Bastrop Optimist Club selected senior Isabella Fulmer as the recipient of the 31st Annual Buddy Henderson Memorial Optimist Scholarship. Named for a former member of the organization, the award recognizes one senior planning to attend a four-year university to recognize their academic success and support them in their future goals.
The initial application process yielded three finalists, and Isabella was invited to a luncheon in April where she and the other finalists presented speeches, from which she was selected the recipient.
Isabella plans to attend LSU in the fall and major in Social Work.
